Sabrina is a Mexican American actress from Fresno, California. She started performing in musical theatre at age 13 and quickly decided that it was her life's passion. She immediately decided to take her passion for music and storytelling by training rigorously in acting, singing and dance at Roosevelt School of the Arts in her hometown. She competed at theatre festivals in the Central Valley, Amador, CA, and attended the Oregon Shakespeare Festival Summer Seminar for High School Students.
After high school, Sabrina trained at Fresno City College and learned the Meisner technique as well as competed in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festivals in Hawaii and Arizona. She also trained for a summer with the Open Jar Institute in New York City, studying musical theatre. In January 2018, Sabrina enrolled at American Academy of the Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles where she deepened her knowledge in acting technique and discovered a love for period theatre and film. She graduated in May 2019.
In October 2021, Sabrina moved to New York City to pursue her acting career on the stage. Since then, she has booked multiple off-Broadway productions, musical theatre workshops, and a semi-national tour! Sabrina works now with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players on tours and in NYC. She looks forward to singing and acting in many more exciting productions on stage and on screen. Sabrina embraces the theatre and feels that theater is her safe space and sanctuary and she hopes to share that with everyone she has the pleasure to perform with.
During Sabrina's time in Los Angeles, she had the pleasure of learning about acting in front of the camera. She starred in multiple short films and worked on two 48 hour film festivals.
Other than musical theatre, Sabrina loves working with text and music that lasts through the centuries. She, of course worked on multiple Shakespearean plays, including Henry V (above: Captain Gower) but also worked on works by George Bernard Shaw, Moliere, and more recently Gilbert and Sullivan.
